This is a tall evergreen shrub up to 3m, with large shiny leaves which look attractive all year round. It has rounded clusters of tiny pink perfumed flowers in Aug-Sept. From Central America, it is a very tough, drought-tolerant plant and is useful as a background shrub or grown as an informal hedge.

Trimming it back after flowering will promote a denser form. It will look at its best, and be most floriferous, in a sunny spot. It dislikes frost.

A hardy evergreen shrub with a neat and tidy habit. Small dark green leaves and fragrant creamy-white flowers. Though this cultivar is called 'Rogersii' it is in fact a female plant meaning that you will get a lovely display of red berries after the spring flowering.

Plant with Skimmia 'Rubella' which is a male cultivar to ensure berry production. Yes sometimes girl definitely needs boy!

A very attractive evergreen shrub from Australia. The fine foliage is a glossy deep green shade with new growth tinged bronze-red. Makes a very attractive hedge that responds well to clipping. White flowers in summer. Plant in a sunny well drained position and protect from harsh frost.

Syzgium (pronounced si-zig-eum) is quite frost tender when young - especially the tips of the leaves but it will get tougher as it matures.
